Manchester United Plan To Make Three Signings This Summer

Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson plans to make the signings during the summer.

This was revealed in an interview as he stated, "I am looking at maybe three signings which would boost our overall quality in our team, We have some ideas in mind and hopefully can get them put in place."

On the subject of retirement Sir Alex Ferguson stated, "I have no plans to retire and my wife Cathy is delighted. She'd have thrown me out. The salient point is that whilst my health is good, carry on. You hear
many stories of people who come off the treadmill and their system breaks down. I don't want that happening to me."

Ferguson was speaking at the club's annual end-of-season award ceremony where Nani was named United's players' player of the year prize.

John Terry has vowed to ease the pain of watching Manchester United lift the Premier League trophy in May by claiming the title for Chelsea this term. The Blues captain, speaking on Sky Sports News at an event in London to launch the new season, feels the top-flight will be the most evenly contested in years. Alongside 19-times winners United and the Stamford Bridge side, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham can all be regarded as contenders for the crown. "When I saw them lift this trophy last year it still hurts today. I want to get my hands back on this and lift it. " And England skipper Terry has admitted the Old Trafford outfit's obvious desire for continued success is what motivates him to achieve glory for Chelsea. "We all see the quality they (Man Utd) have got, the hunger they have still got and the manager has," said Terry, as he sat in front of the gleaming Premier League trophy.
