Barcelona's Javier Mascherano Wary Of Man. United Threat

Barcelona's Javier Mascherano thinks there is nothing to choose between his team and Manchester United.

Barcelona are tipped to be massive favourites and have assembled a squad that comprises of some of the best players on the planet, however, Mascherano thinks Manchester United are a very dangerous team.

"In a final, there are no favourites. "It is one game so it depends how the teams are on the day.

"We will try to do everything we can to win, in the 90 minutes, or 120 minutes.

"We don't know how long it will take but we have confidence in ourselves.

"They are a very good team, very strong," said the 26-year-old midfielder, who joined Barca in a £22m deal in August 2010.

"They have a fantastic manager. He has a lot of experience in Europe and in the Premier League.

"They are one of the biggest teams in the world. We have to be careful because they know how to play finals. It will be really, really difficult."

"Rooney is one of the best strikers in the world," said Mascherano. "He is a key player for them.

"Hernandez is a very, very good player. I knew him when he was in Mexico but it was a big surprise when he came to England.

"I don't know if I will play but it doesn't matter,"Mascherano concluded.

MPs Bid To Make Sir Alex Ferguson A Lord

Two MPs from the Labour Party, who are both from Manchester, have tabled a motion in commons calling for Sir Alex Ferguson to be awarded a peerage. Graham Stringer and Tony Lloyd argue that football should be represented in the House of Lords because of its "economic, social, cultural" importance. And Ferguson, who was knighted in 1999 has just led Manchester United to a 12th Premier League title and a record 19 league title would appear to be the perfect person for such a role. Here's the Motion in full. "That this House recognises the economic, social, cultural and sporting importance of football to the United Kingdom; is therefore surprised at the paucity of representatives from the world of football in the Upper House; further notes that Sir Alex Ferguson, as the manager of Aberdeen and Manchester United, is the most successful manager in the history of British football; and calls for him to be recommended for appointment to the House of Lords."

The French international has failed win a single trophy in his three years at Arsenal, with the club having gone six years without a piece of silverware.
