Sir Alex Ferguson Rules Out Management Return

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has ruled dismissed claims he may return to management one day. The 71 year old, who is the most successful manager in English and Manchester United's football history, insisted he is not interested in getting himself worked up with everyday stresses that a job in football management would entail. Speaking with the BBC, Ferguson also revealed that he was approached by Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich in 2003, who tried to persuade him to abandon United and take up the reigns at Stamford Bridge. "They used an agent to approach me when Abramovich first took over," he said. "And I said, 'No chance'." Ferguson retired at the end of last season after spending 26 years in the Old Trafford dugout, during that time he won 13 premier league titles, 5 FA cups and 2 champions league trophies. Since then, new manager David Moyes has struggled to make the same impression at Old Trafford and has seen them win lose 3 of their opening 7games of the new Premier league season.

Manchester United To Sell Off Stake In Club

Manchester United is to sell off a significant stake in the club in Singapore to partly pay off its gross debts of £515m, the BBC has learnt. BBC sports editor David Bond says it is understood the club has now lodged a listing application with the Singapore Stock Exchange. Our correspondent says it could raise between £400m and £600m for the club. It is understood the club wants to complete the listing by the end of the year. The owners, the Glazer family, removed the Old Trafford club from the London stock market following their successful take over of the Old Trafford club in 2005. A partial share sale, of between 25% and 30%, would also mean that no outside person could take control of the club.
