Paul Scholes Insists He Was Never A Dirty Player

Retired Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes insists he was never a dirty player and that he was unlucky in become the third most carded player in Premier League history with a total of 90 yellow cards.

The former midfielder who has won trophies and and also won praise from his peers like Zidane and Xavi says his fouls were down to bad timing and that he would never try to injure a player.

Talking about his red card against Manchester City in the Fa Cup semi-finals, Scholes says "I never had red mist against anybody. The one against Zabaleta, I didn't do on purpose. It was just bad timing. The red mist quote referring to what Fergie described as a red mist moment for Scholes.

Scholes will play in a testimonial against New York Cosmos at Old Trafford on August 5.
