David De Gea Undergoes Man United Medical

Spain under-21 goal keeper, David De Gea is currently undergoing a medical ahead of his proposed move to Old Trafford, says the BBC . The reported tansfer fee is in the region of £18.9m as De Gea is set to replace retiring Edwin Van Der Sar. De Gea won the European U-21 championship with Spain on Saturday and will help to bolster Manchester United's defence after the earlier acquisition of Phil Jones from Blackburn.

Ashley Young On The Verge Of Joining Manchester United

Aston Villa winger Ashley Young is on the verge of completing a move to Manchester United. BBC Sport understands the 25-year-old England international is close to a £17m switch to Old Trafford. He has been at Villa Park for four-and-a-half years after joining from Watford but has only one year left on his contract. Young - who scored in England's recent 2-2 draw with Switzerland - has made 15 appearances for his country.

Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be readying a move for Qpr playmaker Adel Taarabt after it became clear that the Moroccan international may be looking to leave the recently promoted Loftus Road club. Obertan Linked With Loan Move To Lille

Manchester United winger Gabriel Obertan has played down talk linking him with a move to Lille. Reports have suggested that the Ligue 1 side were lining up a loan swoop for Obertan as they look to bolster their squad for next season's UEFA Champions League campaign. Obertan has struggled to make an impact at United since arriving from Bordeaux in the summer of 2009. The 22-year-old admits he is in the dark over the links with Lille and is unsure where his future lies "I will not be loaned to Lille, for now," Obertan told France Football. MPs Bid To Make Sir Alex Ferguson A Lord

Two MPs from the Labour Party, who are both from Manchester, have tabled a motion in commons calling for Sir Alex Ferguson to be awarded a peerage. Graham Stringer and Tony Lloyd argue that football should be represented in the House of Lords because of its "economic, social, cultural" importance. And Ferguson, who was knighted in 1999 has just led Manchester United to a 12th Premier League title and a record 19 league title would appear to be the perfect person for such a role. "That this House recognises the economic, social, cultural and sporting importance of football to the United Kingdom; is therefore surprised at the paucity of representatives from the world of football in the Upper House; further notes that Sir Alex Ferguson, as the manager of Aberdeen and Manchester United, is the most successful manager in the history of British football; and calls for him to be recommended for appointment to the House of Lords."

Manchester United To Start New Campaign Against West Brom

Barclays Premier League Champions- Manchester United, will start they bid to retain their title at the Hawthorns against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, August 13. Liverpool will host Sunderland, Manchester City will host promoted Swansea, Arsenal are awway at Newcastle and Stoke will host Chelsea. Other newly promoted teams- QPR and Norwich will play Bolton and Wigan respectively.

Large Transfer Fee Would Not Faze De Gea

Manchester United target David De Gea says a large transfer fee in a move to Man United would not faze him. The Athletico Madrid and Spain under 21 goal keeper will reportedly cost United £18m, which would see him the second most expensive goal keeper behind Gianluigi Buffon, who cost Juventus £32.6m in 2001. But the young goal keeper is focused on his performance on the pitch and said of the transfer fee, "that does not interest me. The value that really counts is what you do on the pitch." And went on to comment on the prospect of joining Manchester United, "I feel very motivated that Manchester United are thinking about me."

After much speculation, Manchester United have confirmed that Bébé will be joining Turkish side Besiktas on a season long loan. Besitkas are said to be paying Manchester United £900k for the year and it is not known whether or not there is an option for a permanent deal.

Retired Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes insists he was never a dirty player and that he was unlucky in become the third most carded player in Premier League history with a total of 90 yellow cards. The former midfielder who has won trophies and and also won praise from his peers like Zidane and Xavi says his fouls were down to bad timing and that he would never try to injure a player. Talking about his red card against Manchester City in the Fa Cup semi-finals, Scholes says "I never had red mist against anybody. The one against Zabaleta, I didn't do on purpose. It was just bad timing. The red mist quote referring to what Fergie described as a red mist moment for Scholes. Scholes will play in a testimonial against New York Cosmos at Old Trafford on August 5.

Darron Gibson in £5 Million Sunderland Move

Darron Gibson has reportedly agreed a £5 million pound move to Sunderland, according to various reports in the press. The 24 year old Republic Of Ireland International is reportedly seeking more regular football and as a result is willing to join other Manchester United outcasts such as Kieran Richardson, Phil Bardsley and Frazier Campbell at the stadium of light.

Glazers Looking To Float Manchester United On Hong Kong Stock Exchange

The Glazer family, who owns Manchester United are reportedly looking to list Manchester United on the Hong Kong stock exchange. If done, the deal could see United being valued at £1.7 billion and could also provide a profitable exit for the Glazers who bought the club in a highly leveraged £790m, although the Glazers may retain a stake in the club and use some of the cash from a share offering to reduce the debt of £490m. This news might excite fans who have moved against the Glazers for saddling the club with over £500m debt and caused a marked reduction in transfer spending.

Man United Complete Phil Jones Deal

Manchester United have announced that they have completed a deal to sign defender Phil Jones from Blackburn Rovers. The deal was reportedly in tatters, as several newspapers reported that Blackburn wanted more than the £16 million reportedly in Phil Jones contract as a release clause, and Liverpool had allegedly bid £6 million more for the highly rated young defender. But on monday, United reported that they have finally sealed the deal for a fee that could rise to £17 million. And Jones, announced to his twitter fans "It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and I'm looking forward to a new challenge. "I'd just like to say that I've loved my time at Blackburn and I will always be a huge fan."

Transfer Gossip- Ashley Young Set For United Transfer But Phil Jones Deal Stalls

Manchester United are said to be close to sealing a deal for skillful Aston Villa winger, Ashley Young. According to The Guardian, United will seal the deal after Young returns from holidays later this month, while the deal for Phil Jones who is away on England under 21 duty has hit a snag over the valuation of the player by both clubs. Jones' contract was said to have a £16m release clause, however Blackburn Rovers have disputed this and have claimed that the £16m clause only gives the player permission to talk to any club that tables that bid. United are said to be confident they will get Jones for that amount while Blackburn's lawyers try to argue their case.
